Its Interclub Slalom Time!

WHAT a SCORCHER

Team Proteus went off to Cardington this weekend for the National Interclubs slalom Congratulations to everyone who took part in the interclubs this weekend, and thanks to all those who came along and supported the team.

No one could miss us, with the noise from the horn, the vuvuzela and of course the load voices. Of course loud voices were Lois and Kosi, Kate and Colin were their normal shy retiring selves and kept quiet

If like me you've lost your voice, you'll be pleased to know it was all in a good cause - the Sportsmans award, which is presented to the team to have taken part in the best spirit of the event, as voted by the team managers, went to "that noisy lot from Proteus" :-)

We also had some brilliant individual & team performances, including (if my memory is correct): K1M Div2/3/Vet team - 4th K1W team - 7th Canadian team - 7th Matthew Footitt - Div 3 K1M - 5th Sally Atkinson - Prem/Div K1W - 5th Pete Atkinson - Veterans - 4th Kate Kent - C1W - 3rd

I think this is the first time I've ever seen all our teams actually do their runs nose to tail and interweaving as a team rather than spreading out to give each other space.

Which all added up to us comming 9th overall. The best finish we've had in years

So stand up and take a bow the entire team WELL DONE!

Anyone want to send me any pictures/links to picture, or leave a disk in the club and let me know? Just so I can update the web
Especially pictures of Lois piroutting at the bottom of the course, I understand he had a large grin, could not see it myself for some reason

WINTER SLALOM

Yes folks it's time top start publicising the WInter Slaloms. This year we will be hosting the fun and friendly Winter series on November 21st and December 12th. As usual it will be course up Saturday from 1oam, practice from whenever it is ready. Entries on Sunday with racing starting at noon. Commestible Prizes for all divisions/ages.

Making a welcome return will be the Clever CAptures sponsored 'Fish Cake' well for the first event at least, (picture of 2009 below). Can Mandy manage to produce an even MORE stunning prize this year, will CC stump up for a prize for each event? I do not know, but I do know it will be fun

See you there!

Thanks to all who helped put this on, many hands did indeed make light work. A big entry, but easier to run than some previous years!
AND thanks to Clever Captures, for the 'I wish I was somewhere else' prize.
